How Creators Earn on ToriBOX
There are two main ways your content earns money on ToriBOX:
1. Coin Unlocks (Episode Revenue)
Each episode after the free first 10 costs viewers coins to unlock. Each coin is worth approximately ₦9. When a viewer spends 5 coins to unlock your episode, that's ₦45 in gross revenue. 60% of that — ₦27 — goes directly to you.
Scale that across a 52-episode series with thousands of viewers, and the numbers become significant very quickly.
Example calculation: A series with 10,000 viewers who each watch 30 paid episodes generates ₦13.5 million in gross coin revenue. The creator receives ₦8.1 million — over $5,000 USD.
2. Watch-Time Bonuses
In addition to episode unlocks, ToriBOX distributes a portion of platform subscription and advertising revenue based on watch-time share. If your content accounts for 15% of all minutes watched on ToriBOX in a given month, you receive 15% of the watch-time bonus pool — multiplied by your 60% share.
This incentivises quality and rewatchability, not just volume. A creator who makes 10 episodes that people watch repeatedly can earn more than one who churns out 100 forgettable episodes.
When Do You Get Paid?
Payments are processed bi-monthly — on the 1st and 15th of each month. We support bank transfers to Nigerian accounts, and we're adding international wire and PayPal options for diaspora creators in Q2 2026.
There is a minimum payout threshold of ₦5,000 to avoid processing fees on tiny amounts. Any earnings below that threshold roll over to the next cycle.
Transparency: Your Dashboard
Every ToriBOX creator gets access to a real-time analytics dashboard showing:
- Episode unlock counts — by episode, by day, by region
- Watch-time minutes — total and per episode
- Revenue earned — both unlocks and watch-time bonuses
- Audience retention graphs — see exactly where viewers drop off
- Payment history — every transaction, timestamped and auditable
